Drymiskos beaches

24 km from Saktouria there is the village of Drymiskos.  South of the picturesque hamlet of Drymiskos stretches a series of consecutive coves forming several beaches along 3 km. The entire region is named Drymiskiani Gialia (Drymiskos Beach).

The successive beaches are separated by rocks and reefs which make snorkeling a real experience. The site remains virtually unknown to most people mainly because the access is quite difficult than other places in South Rethymnon prefecture.

The most famous part of Drymiskian Beach is Amoudi, the westernmost beach, because there ends the dirt road approaching the beach of Preveli from the east.

Ammoudi is the starting point of a short trail to Preveli beach. and most visitors park their car here. 

Whoever continues from Amoudi and follows the dirt road heading to the east will meet many beautiful sandy beaches with no people, ideal for isolation and naturism. At the center of Drymiskian Beach there are the beaches of Kefala with a black-tooth-like sharp rock that pops out of the sand.

Left and right of the rock you will find the best beaches in the area. If you continue much further you'll reach Anatolika beaches, aka East, named after their location which are less crowded and with deep, clear waters. From Anatolika we can continue to reach the beaches of Kerames, with the first being Gialopotama. Most beaches have no trees but there are large rocks that provide shade all day long.
