cave of Daedalus- Agia Galini

In Agia Galini lies the cave of Daedalus, where, according to a well-known myth, Daedalus, persecuted by King Minos and from there, managed to fly to freedom with his son Icarus using wax glued wings made by himself.

The rock used as a base for their flight by Daedalus and Icarus is to the right of the port, gazing at the sea as if they still bid farewell to their fateful journey.

At this point there are two statues of Daedalus and Icarus today, in preparation for their journey, and are easily accessible to the visitor.
