Agia Galini - Crete
Agia Galini is a popular seaside resort located 61km southeast of Rethymnon and 68km southwest of Heraklion. Agia Galini with its beaches, the harbor and the village with its picturesque narrow streets with taverns and shops attracts many tourists every year.
Before the '60s and' 70s, when it saw a great tourist development, the village was a small fishing village and was essentially serving the residents of Melabes. But the '60s became a favorite destination for flower hippies. Indeed, there are many fanatics who come to the village every year since then.
Today Agia Galini is a modern tourist resort, providing all the comforts to its guests. In the village you will find many options for food, entertainment, medical services, post office, banks, shops etc.
Agia Galini is built on the slopes of Lavrastos, near the mouth of the river Plati, which flows through the Amari valley and has water all over it. time.
